Thursday, 29 September 2005 WebWarper is a proxy-like Web service allowing to view any sites with gzip compression. As a result, it saves traffic in 2-3 times and assures anonymity while viewing pages (not while sending messages in forums, guestbooks and other web forms). Gzipping the content can accelerate access to Internet. WebWarper also provides antivirus protection by removing suspicious ActiveX from pages.
The service adds advertisement to the pages. The advertisement can be turned off free of charge, but not for a long time: you will need to periodically repeat the procedure of turning off. Or you can purchase a registration code, and the advertisement will be turned off for a very long time.
